Have you ever been unfriended on Facebook? Afterwards, do you spend time obsessing over what may have caused it?
Christopher Sibona, a PhD student in the Computer Science and Information Systems program at the University Of Colorado Denver Business School, is conducting a study on online relationships and the top reasons for unfriending.
Based on the findings in his study, 57% of unfriendings occur for online behavior, while 26% are due to offline reasons.
Here are common online reasons for being unfriended:
- Your updates are no longer interesting
- You are talking about religion and politics too much
- You are a potty mouth or you're posting crude comments
